Privacy policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026. Template: have it reviewed by your legal adviser before launch.
Who is responsible
Geowete Enterprise Limited, House No. 7 Sable Road, Lusaka, Zambia, is responsible for personal information collected through the Board. Contact: chimbweteg@gmail.com, +260 971 164 668.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and login details.
- Listing: the business details, contact numbers, photos and products you choose to publish. This information is public once your listing is active.
- Payments: plan, amount, payment method, the transaction reference you enter and an optional phone number. We do not collect card or bank account numbers.
- Reviews: your display name, rating and review text, which are public.
- Enquiries: if you send an enquiry to a business, we pass your name, phone number and message to that business only. The business can delete it from its inbox.
- Visit counts: we count page views and taps on WhatsApp, call and share buttons for each listing. These are anonymous totals: we don't record who you are, your IP address or your location.
We ask your date of birth during registration only to confirm you are 18 or older. It is not stored.
How we use it
To run your account and listing, confirm payments, show your public profile, prevent abuse, and contact you about your account. We do not sell personal information.
Where it is stored
Data is stored with Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), a service provider that processes it on our behalf. Firebase servers may be outside Zambia. By registering or sending an enquiry you agree to this transfer. Our website is delivered through Cloudflare, which handles your connection (including your IP address) to protect the site and make it faster. Our own web server only serves the site's files and keeps no visitor logs. We use access rules so that only you and authorised staff can see your private account and payment records.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is open, and afterwards only as long as needed for accounting and legal obligations. You can delete your listing and account from your dashboard at any time.
Your rights
Under Zambia's Data Protection Act you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how it is used. Contact us using the details above. You can also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
